The Colorado chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CO), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemn racist and anti-immigrant signs bolted to bus stops in Denver.
A Republican activist who previously wrote about shooting Latinos reportedly claimed credit for putting up the signs.
“This promotion of racist and anti-immigrant hate must be repudiated by community leaders and elected officials,” said CAIR-CO Board Chair Krista Cole. “We all have a duty to speak out against the rising bigotry targeting minority communities we are seeing nationwide.”
She said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
