In a statement, CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Mitchell said:
“Any member of Congress who attends and applauds the speech by the genocidal, racist war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu will irreparably damage their reputation and legacy.
“Members of Congress who embrace Netanyahu while he lies to the American people, undermines efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire and slaughters men, women and children on a daily basis are embracing his genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people.
“It is imperative that our elected officials stand on the right side of history and boycott a foreign leader who has shown blatant disregard for human rights and numerous American presidents.
“Instead of applauding this criminal, members of Congress should demand that the ICC issue an arrest warrant for Netanyahu for his crimes against humanity.”
BACKGROUND:
The International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, has requested arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes committed during the Israel-Gaza conflict.

If the ICC judges find “reasonable grounds” to believe these crimes occurred, they may issue warrants, compelling ICC signatory states to arrest the individuals if they enter their territories. This move has elicited strong reactions from Israeli representatives, who deny the allegations
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
