CAIR Community Advisory: Schedule In-District Meetings for Ceasefire in Gaza, No More Aid for Israel’s War Crimes

Next week marks a weeklong congressional recess, with Monday designated as President’s Day.

In response to the far-right Israeli government’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and mounting violence in the West Bank, the Council on American-Islamic Relations is urging all Americans to arrange in-district meetings with their U.S. House Representatives and Senators during next week’s congressional recess to demand an immediate ceasefire.

Next week marks a congressional recess, with Monday designated as President’s Day. This weeklong recess presents a local in-distinct opportunity for constituents to engage with their representatives while they are present in their home states.

The gravity of the situation cannot be overstated. The far-fight Israeli government’s relentless genocidal assault on Gaza has led to the murder of over 29,000 civilians and inflicted injuries upon more than 60,000 individuals. This ongoing genocide necessitates a swift and unequivocal response from the international community, including the United States.

CAIR encourages those seeking to schedule in-district congressional meetings to consult its recent release: “CAIR Community Toolkit: Requesting Congressional Meetings for Ceasefire Now in Gaza!” This toolkit provides individuals with the requisite resources to secure meetings with their elected representatives, thereby amplifying their voices within the halls of Congress.

Moreover, CAIR urges citizens to oppose any new federal aid package to far-right Netanyahu government. Such assistance would perpetuate the cycle of violence and contribute to the loss of more Palestinian lives through the use of American-funded weaponry. Every action undertaken in the forthcoming week is pivotal in advocating for an end to the bloodshed and advancing the cause of justice and peace in the region.
