CAIR Condemns Distribution of Antisemitic Flyers in D.C. Neighborhood

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/11/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned distribution of antisemitic flyers in a Washington, D.C., neighborhood.

Homeowners in the Kalorama neighborhood found the hate material on their doorsteps Thursday morning. Video shows a man with a backpack dropping the flyers in the neighborhood.

“We condemn this crude attempt to promote antisemitism and urge all Americans to reject the hatred and division sought by those who choose bigotry over mutual respect and understanding,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.

He noted that CAIR recently condemned the distribution of antisemitic flyers on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and has repeatedly condemned similar incidents nationwide.

Hooper said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
