CAIR Condemns Distribution of Racist, Neo-Nazi Propaganda in Iowa

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the reported distribution of racist, neo-Nazi propaganda in Iowa.

According to a resident of Iowa City’s Northside, that propaganda purported to be a “Health Warning” of Black men. It lists a mailing address for the National Alliance, which the Southern Poverty Law Center calls “for decades the most dangerous and best organized neo-Nazi formation in America.”

“This type of hate propaganda has no place in our nation’s communities,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Local and state leaders must repudiate the hatred and division being promoted nationwide by bigots of all kinds.

He noted that yesterday, CAIR welcomed hate crime charges brought against a West Virginia man who allegedly harassed and made racist threats to his neighbors and threatened to kill police officers.

CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
