CAIR Condemns Distribution of White Supremacist Material in Virginia

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/19/23) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of racist, white supremacist material in Charlottesville, Va.

Residents found the hate material from a group tied to Ku Klux Klan (KKK) the in their driveways on Sunday morning.

“It is crucial for communities to stand together against hate groups and actively promote unity and mutual understanding,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “We encourage residents and law enforcement authorities to work collaboratively to address the issue of growing bigotry and to ensure the protection and security of all individuals affected by these hateful acts.”

Hooper said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
