CAIR Condemns Distribution of White Supremacist Materials in Wyoming

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 5/1/23) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the reported distribution of white supremacist materials in Wyoming.

A man in Gillette, Wyo., reported receiving mail from a white supremacist group that included a DVD containing “songs and information about the white population in the United States.”

“We condemn the reported promotion of white supremacy and call on community leaders and elected officials to take a strong stand against bigotry and to promote values of diversity, inclusion and mutual respect,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.

He noted that last year, CAIR similarly condemned the distribution of antisemitic materials to homes in Wyoming.

Hooper said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
