The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of white supremacist propaganda in Joplin, Missouri.
Joplin police are investigating flyers with links to a website and references to a “known white supremacist and anti-Semitic group.”
Yesterday, CAIR condemned a reported demonstration Saturday by a white supremacist neo-Nazi group, Aryan Freedom Network, in Marion, Iowa.
“We are unfortunately witnessing the increasing promotion of white supremacist propaganda in communities nationwide,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “This disturbing effort to promote bigotry and division must be repudiated by all Americans who believe in justice and equality.”
He noted that CAIR has similarly condemned neo-Nazi and white supremacist activities nationwide.
Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
