The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of white supremacist propaganda in Whitefish, Montana.
Flyers promoting white supremacy had been dropped off at a popular bookstore, put into books and placed in the window.
“We condemn any effort to spread the hate-filled ideology of white supremacy and urge all community leaders and elected officials to speak out against the rising level of bigotry targeting minority communities nationwide,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.
Last year, CAIR condemned the hanging of a white supremacist banner over a highway in Montana and the distribution of white supremacist material at Montana State University.
Hooper said Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
