CAIR Condemns Israel as ‘Sadistic’ for Bombing Gaza Despite Ceasefire Agreement

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the Israeli government as “sadistic” for continuing to carry out deadly attacks on Gaza even after a ceasefire agreement was announced.

According to reports, Israeli forces bombed multiple areas in Gaza, killing at least 10 civilians and wounding many more, despite the declared start of a ceasefire agreement intended to halt the Gaza genocide.

In a statement, Washington, D.C., based CAIR said:

“We strongly condemn the Israeli occupation for continuing to bomb civilians in Gaza, killing aid seekers and the son of a prominent journalist, despite committing to President Trump’s ceasefire proposal.

“Trying to kill as many Palestinians as possible before the Israeli cabinet’s official vote is not self-defense. It is sadism. Such actions reveal a level of cruelty and disregard for human life that should shock the conscience of the world.

“No one else should die in a war that is already supposed to be over. President Trump should demand that all attacks on Gaza stop immediately, without any delay.”

Last night, CAIR welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire deal’s first phase, which, if implemented, would mark a critical step toward ending the ongoing genocide in Gaza and ensuring the release of all captives.

Yesterday, CAIR called on the Trump administration to “put American first” following a new report by the Costs of War project at Brown University that the United States spent more than $30 billion in support of Israel’s genocide and its other wars in the Middle East over the past two years beyond the $3.8 billion Israel already receives every year.

Earlier this week, CAIR marked two years since the Oct. 7 attack in Israel and the start of the genocide in Gaza by reiterating its opposition to all violence against civilians, calling for America’s political leaders to do the same and saying that it is “long past time” for the genocide to end, for all hostages and political prisoners to go free, and for a credible path to establishing a liberated Palestinian state free from Israeli occupation or western colonial oversight.
