The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned so-called Israeli aid concentration sites in Gaza as really “killing zones” after Israel slaughtered least 31 people and wounded more than 150 Sunday while they were on their way to receive food in the Gaza.
The Associated Press reports that Israeli forces fired on crowds 1,000 yards away from an aid concentration site run by an Israeli-backed foundation.
Last Month, CAIR condemned Israel’s plan to allow only a few aid trucks into Gaza as a “completely insufficient, psychotic PR stunt.”
In a statement, CAIR said:
“These ‘aid’ concentration sites – in which a handful of desperate people are given starvation rations as a cruel publicity stunt designed to deflect attention from Israel’s forced starvation campaign – are in reality ‘killing zones’ for that state’s machine of death and destruction. This is pure evil, operating with impunity and with the world’s silence. The genocide must stop and the Palestinian people must be recognized as human beings deserving freedom and justice on their own land.”
Yesterday, CAIR and its Massachusetts chapter (CAIR-MA) condemned the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for reportedly banning MIT class of 2025 president Megha Vemuri from attending her undergraduate graduation ceremonies because she delivered an anti-genocide speech critical of MIT’s collaboration with the Israeli military a day earlier.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
