(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/13/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned Israel’s denial of water to worshipers at Palestine’s Ibrahimi Mosque.
In Palestine, Ibrahim Mosque authorities say they haven’t received water for four days.

In a statement, CAIR national Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“Using access to water as a means to deny religious freedom is unconscionable and must be condemned by our government and people of all faiths worldwide. This outrageous tactic of the Israeli apartheid occupation is just a small part of what Palestinian Muslims and Christians have been subjected to for decades. The Biden administration cannot claim that it centers human rights in its foreign policy if it turns a blind eye to the blatant apartheid behavior of Israel denying water to Palestinians just because they are not Jewish.”
He noted that last month, CAIR welcomed a congressional letter signed by 57 members of the U.S. House Representatives calling onthe State Department and the FBI to investigate the murder of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
