CAIR Condemns Israeli Massacre of 9 Palestinians, Including 3 Journalists

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the latest Israeli massacre of civilians in Gaza that included the killing of three journalists.

Israeli airstrikes killed at least nine people, including the three local journalists, who were reportedly using a drone to video humanitarian aid. An Israeli strike targeted a vehicle on a mission of the Al-Khair Foundation charity. They were accompanied by the journalists and photographers when targeted.

CAIR has repeatedly condemned Israel’s targeting of journalists during its Gaza genocide. Last month, CAIR called on U.S. and international media outlets to address a new report by the Committee to Protect Journalists (IPJ) showing that a record number of journalists were killed in 2024, almost two-thirds of them Palestinians who were killed by Israel.

In a statement, CAIR said:

“Apparently the far-right Israeli government’s definition of ‘ceasefire’ includes the right to kill civilians at will, including targeting journalists gathering news about the illegal Israeli blockade of all humanitarian aid to Gaza.

“Israel will continue to occupy, kill, starve, and destroy until the world community, and particularly our nation’s government – holds it to account for these war crimes.”

Earlier today, CAIR called the Trump administration’s expulsion of South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool “racist” and “Islamophobic” retaliation for his nation’s opposition to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Last week, CAIR said President Trump’s use of “Palestinian” as a racial slur is “beneath the dignity of his office.”

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
