CAIR Condemns Israeli Troops Firing at Foreign Diplomats in Occupied West Bank

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned Israeli troops firing at a group of foreign diplomats in the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli military said the bullets it fired at a group of foreign diplomats in Jenin were “warning shots”, fired after the delegation “deviated” from their approved route and moved to an “unauthorized” area.

In a statement, CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:

“Even a group of foreign diplomats visiting the occupied West Bank are not safe from the indiscriminate violence of the Israeli occupation forces, and if diplomats are not safe, then Palestinians certainly are not safe. The Netanyahu regime is completely out of control, and it is long past time for our government and other western governments to stop defending, funding and arming these war crimes.”

Yesterday, CAIR called on the Trump administration and the world community to take immediate action after the UN’s humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher warned that 14,000 babies in Gaza are at risk of death due to Israel’s campaign of forced starvation.
