CAIR Condemns Israel’s Latest Slaughter of 74 Palestinian Children in First Week of January

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the latest slaughter of Palestinian children and other civilians by Israeli forces in Gaza, including an Israeli-designated safe zone.

At least 74 children have reportedly been killed in Gaza in the first seven days of 2025, according to UNICEF. The most recent attack, yesterday, saw five children reportedly killed in Al Mawasi, an Israeli-designated “safe zone” in the south. Medical sources told Al Jazeera that at least 49 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli attacks since the early hours of Tuesday morning.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“It has only been a week into the new year and the genocidal Israeli government has already slaughtered 74 children in Gaza. These atrocities cannot be allowed to continue. The United States and the international community must force the Israeli government of indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu to accept a ceasefire and end its campaign of terror, forced starvation, destruction, and mass murder.”
