CAIR Condemns Neo-Nazi Rally in Arkansas

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned a reported neo-Nazi rally in Arkansas.

Some two dozen members of the neo-Nazi white supremacist group Blood Tribe rallied at the Arkansas Capitol and Little Rock Central High carrying a banner that read “race mixing is communism.” The rally occurred near one of the nation’s most historic sites of the struggle for civil rights and racial equality.

In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:

“At a time when white supremacist ideology is fueling threats, harassment, and violence across our nation, it is both disturbing and unacceptable to see neo-Nazi groups openly spewing their hateful message in Arkansas or anywhere else.

“White supremacy should have no place in our society. Communities across the country must stand united against racism, antisemitism, anti-Black racism, Islamophobia, and all forms of bigotry. We urge local and state leaders to speak out clearly against this hatred and to continue working toward a safer, more inclusive America for everyone.”

He said Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
