(BALTIMORE, MD, 10/11/18) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned recruitment flyers from a white supremacist hate group discovered by residents in Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood.

The note, which was placed inside a plastic bag, reportedly specifically targeted immigrants and Mexicans, and included a phone number with a North Carolina area code.
Earlier this week, CAIR’s California chapter decried hate symbols including a swastika discovered near a Muslim-owned dental clinic in the city of San Jose.

Last month, CAIR denounced hate graffiti and symbols discovered on campus at the University of Maryland College Park.

CAIR’s 2018 Civil Rights Report, ”˜Targeted’, the organization recorded a 17 percent increase in bias-motivated incidents against Muslim Americans from 2016-17, and a 15 percent increase in the number of anti-Muslim hate crimes in the same time period.
