The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned hate propaganda by a white supremacist group in Wyoming.
Graffiti promoting the white supremacist group Patriot Front was removed from a bridge on Wyoming Highway 374.
On Friday, CAIR’s Cleveland office condemned the distribution of racist flyers by the same group on the campus of Youngstown State University.
“Racist hate is unfortunately being promoted nationwide in an attempt to intimidate minority communities and further divide our society,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Our nation’s leaders have a duty to speak out against the rising tide of hatred and division we are witnessing nationwide.
He noted that last year, CAIR condemned the distribution of white supremacist materials in Wyoming.
Hooper said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
