The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned white supremacist rallies in Cumberland, Rhode Island, and Paducah, Kentucky.

The Cumberland Police Department said that a white supremacist group appeared to have gathered in different locations around the town on Saturday.

At least 20 masked individuals apparently associated with a white supremacist organization took to the streets in downtown Paducah on Sunday, many of them carrying Confederate or White supremacy-related symbols.

“Public displays of white supremacy and other forms of bigotry will not succeed in intimidating diverse communities,” said CAIR National Communications Manager Ismail Allison. “We condemn these hate rallies and urge Americans to come together to repudiate all forms of racism.”

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
