The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today responded to the killing of at least 33 children by Israeli forces in Gaza in the last 24 hours and a revelation that Israel’s resumption of attacks has killed at least 322 children in Gaza since it began.
Three Israeli attacks on schools in Gaza in the last 24 hours have killed at least 33 children. Israel’s resumption of aerial bombardment and ground operations in Gaza has reportedly left at least 322 children dead and 609 injured – constituting a daily average of around 100 children killed or maimed over the past 10 days.

In a statement, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“The Israeli government is conducting a mass slaughter of children before the eyes of the world, and the response is largely silence and inaction. This is an unbearable reality that must change. Can there be said to be human civilization if such horrors are allowed to happen in the open and no action is taken to stop them?”
He noted that yesterday, CAIR said the “unconscionable impunity” granted by the world community for the ongoing genocide by the far-right government of indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu must end.
