CAIR-CT Condemns Distribution of Racist Materials in Connecticut

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/7/2023) – The Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIRCT), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of racist letters in Thompson, Conn.

“We condemn this devious attempt to promote hate and urge Americans to stand together in repudiation of all bigoted ideologies,” said CAIR-Connecticut Chair Farhan Memon.

Memon noted that earlier this year, CAIR-CT condemned the distribution of racist flyers in Rocky Hill, and Westport, Conn.

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
