The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is encouraging all eligible Muslim voters in Virginia to take part in the June Primary Election for  June 17th  for the purpose of nominating a candidate for the Democratic and Republican Parties for the offices of governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, member, Virginia House of Delegates and local offices

In a statement, CAIR Government Affairs Coordinator Shafiquil Muhshna said:

“Our votes carry the power to shape the future of our communities—from the school boards educating our children to the lawmakers deciding our rights. When we vote, we show that our voices can’t be ignored, our values won’t be sidelined, and our communities will not be left out.”

NOTE: Primaries only take place if two or more candidates qualify to be on the primary ballot. The “2025 June Primary Elections” document are offices for which two or more candidates qualified. If only one candidate qualified, they automatically become the party’s nominee and qualify for the November General ballot.
