The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today predicted that the Biden administration will once again remain silent after the Israeli government bombed and levelled a residential building in Gaza, killing more than 100 people, including children.
Last night, the victims, mostly women and children, were slaughtered in an Israeli attack on a five-story building where displaced Palestinians were sheltering in northern Gaza.
Israel has already slaughtered more than 43,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, and has destroyed most of the civilian infrastructure, forcibly displaced almost all of the civilian population, and imposed forced starvation.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza continued as its forces killed more than 60 people across a dozen towns Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley.
In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“After the Israeli government bombed and levelled an entire residential building, slaughtering more than 100 refugees, we expect the morally bankrupt Biden administration to remain silent and continue shipping American taxpayer-funded weapons to Israel to carry out more war crimes. President Biden is not a bystander to these war crimes. He is a participant.”
Yesterday, CAIR said the far-right Israeli government’s passage of a law to ban the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) that is serving the suffering people of Gaza is further evidence of Israel’s genocidal intent.
Also yesterday, CAIR welcomed a detailed submission by South Africa to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) outlining evidence of Israel’s violation of the 1948 Genocide Convention in its war on Gaza.
Over the weekend, CAIR demanded that the Biden administration take concrete actions to stop Israeli’s genocide after the United Nation’s top humanitarian aid official said, “the entire population of North Gaza is at risk of dying.”
Last week, CAIR said the Israeli government’s latest slaughter of babies and children in Gaza should “shock the conscience” of Biden administration officials supporting the genocide in Gaza.
