(Miami, FL, 10/30/2018) — The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the State’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is offering active-shooting training to Florida Synagogues, Temples, or Churches cost-free upon request. All CAIR-Florida’s safety trainings are offered by law enforcement professionals.
Nezar Hamze, CAIR-Florida Operations Director, stated, “It is imperative that the Florida community immediately take action to worship freely and safely. CAIR-Florida encourages all religious institutions statewide to consider instituting additional safety measures in response to the Tree of Life Synagogue massacre in Pittsburgh.
“CAIR-Florida urges all Florida houses of worship to take extra security precautions using its “Best Practices for Mosque and Community Safety” booklet. The advice in CAIR’s security publication is applicable to religious institutions of all faiths.”
