The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today expressed horror in response to viral footage of a young Palestinian girl in Rafah struggling to survive after an Israeli attack blew her jaw blown off.
Over the weekend, 12-year-old girl in Al-Nuseirat had her jaw blown off by an Israeli missile. Footage of doctors struggling to hold the girl’s bloodied face and loose tongue in place. She ultimately survived the attack.

In a statement, CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“We have seen hundreds of horrific videos since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, but this footage of a young girl struggling to survive with half of her face blown off is beyond the pale. It is simply intolerable. Every day that President Biden enables these genocidal war crimes, he is violating U.S. law, flouting international law and bloodying the hands of our nation. For the love of God, President Biden must stop enabling this horror.”
CAIR also condemned South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham for racist remarks he made about Palestinians on the Fourth of July.
