The mother, identified as Mrs. H in a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) news release, was wearing a hijab and speaking Arabic to her children. She said Wolf jumped into the pool and pulled her two children to the deep end where she tried to drown them.

Harris’ numbers are not all so bright, however. The Council on American-Islamic Relations found in a poll released Thursday that 29.4% of American Muslims intend to vote for Harris — nearly tying with their support for Green Party candidate Stein at 29.1%. The findings reveal that American Muslims continue to press their complaints about the Biden-Harris administration’s policies on Gaza.

Trump voters made up 11.2% of those polled, with small percentages for West and Oliver. About 16% said they were undecided.

The floated flip-flop comes after a poll conducted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations this month found Harris had just 29% support among Muslim Americans in the 2024 election – tying even with Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has labeled GWU as one of three “institutions of particular concern,” for “targeting” pro-Palestinian protesters. The university did not respond to a request for comment on CAIR’s classification.

“We don’t think that schools and colleges across the country are ready to deal with more protests,” said Amr Shabaik, the legal director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

“The bottom line is everyone wants students to be safe. They want students to feel included on their college campuses. But unfortunately, right now, the responses we’re seeing from colleges is cracking down on students.”

Shabaik said “some of these schools may be thinking they’re getting ready for the fall,” but “are not taking the steps that ensure that all of their students are protected. And they are potentially creating an environment where these students are going to be further marginalized and further subject to harassment and discrimination,” he added.

In December 2023, a Muslim middle-school teacher in the public school system also filed a religious discrimination complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission after she was placed on administrative leave because of her use of “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” in her email signature.
