CAIR-Kentucky Joins Christian, Jewish Groups in Condemning White-Supremacist Flyers

(LEXINGTON, KY, 8/12/2020) The Kentucky chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today joined local Christian and Jewish organizations in condemning flyers with neo-Nazi language circulated in Central Kentucky.

The flyers were distributed by the group called 14 First The Foundation and read “Blood and soil blood and soil. . .Jews will not replace us. . .Blacks will not replace us. . .Mexicans will not replace us. . .We stand in defense of the white Aryan men and women stand up.”

In a statement, CAIR Kentucky Chair Waheedah Muhammad said:

“We the undersigned join hands to strongly condemn the vile and hateful language contained in the flyers circulated last weekend in Central Kentucky by the group called 14 First The Foundation. The words on the flyers harken back to the language of Hitler’s bloody Nazi regime and one of the ugliest times in human history.  It was a time when the idea of racial superiority threatened to engulf the entire world in hatred and murder. These false ideas of racial superiority that promote hatred of the ‘other’ are again threatening our world. As people of faith, our beliefs demand that we stand firmly against this language and the thinking it represents.

“We the undersigned stand against racism and bigotry in all its manifestations and call upon our fellow Kentuckians and Americans to do the same.”

She said Washington-based CAIR and the American Muslim community are standing in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Black racism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, and white supremacy.
