A surveillance video from the Pico-Robertson neighborhood showed a man shouting hate-filled, antisemitic rhetoric before throwing a brick through the back windshield of a car.
In a statement, CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush said:
“This apparent hate crime against the Jewish community is alarming, especially as we have seen an increase in antisemitism across the country that urgently needs to be addressed. The Jewish community deserves to feel safe in their own homes, and the appalling actions of this individual infringes on that right to safety.
“Hate of any form must not be tolerated in our communities, and we strongly condemn this blatant display of antisemitism. We call on the LAPD to use its resources to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident as a hate crime and look forward to the perpetrator being apprehended.”
Individuals who may have information related to the incident are encouraged to contact the LAPD.
