CAIR-Minnesota to Hold Vigil for Shukri Ali Said, Somali Woman Killed by Police in Georgia

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN., 4/30/18) — Later today, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) will hold a vigil and rally outside the Cedar Cultural Center for #ShukriAliSaid.

This past Saturday, Shukri Ali Said, 36, was tragically killed by JOHNS CREEK, GA police after she was experiencing a mental health crisis.

Said’s family called the police in the hopes that she wouldn’t hurt herself or someone else – they believed the police would have the training and tools to get everyone to safety. The family made it clear that Shukri was mentally unstable at the moment.

Join us for vigil offering prayers and rally.
