CAIR-MN, Black Lives Matter to Join Community Groups in Calling for Resignation of US Marshal for District of Minnesota

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 6/7/21) – On Tuesday, June 8, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) will join other and justice community organizations to demand the resignation of Ramona Dohman, the Trump-appointed U.S. Marshal for the District of Minnesota for the mishandling of the Winston Smith investigation and killing at the hands of the Northstar Taskforce.

In a statement, CAIR-MN Executive Director Jaylani Hussein said: 

“It is time for President Biden’s administration to take this matter seriously and to respond immediately to the demands to fire US Marshal Ramona Dohman and appoint someone who is reflective of the administration’s values. We demand an immediate investigation and release of information about the Winston Smith case in the next twenty-four hours. We are demanding transparency, accountability, and integrity.”
