CAIR-NY to Take Part in Walk for Children in Need

(NEW YORK, NY, 5/2/08) – The New York chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) today is calling on Muslims in the tri-state area and all people of conscience to participate in RideRunOrWalk, an event sponsored by Islamic Relief USA to alleviate poverty by funding education, sanitation, and emergency relief efforts for children in need worldwide.
CAIR-NY’s support of the event is part of the “Muslims Care” campaign, a nationwide effort launched to encourage volunteerism in the American Muslim community.

WHAT: RideRunOrWalk to Remove Poverty
WHEN: Sunday, May 11, 2008, 9 a.m.
WHERE: Holy Cow Park at Kissena Park, 199th Street and 73rd Avenue/ Peck Avenue, Flushing, NY
REGISTRATION: Online $10 at www.irw.org or onsite starting at 7:30 am.
Sponsors will donate per mile completed.
