The Philadelphia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Philadelphia), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is honored to announce that Executive Director Dr. Ahmet Tekelioglu will serve as a juror in the upcoming Philadelphia People’s Tribunal on War Crimes & Genocide in Gaza on May 31, 2025, a significant community-led initiative seeking accountability and justice.
The Tribunal will bring together a team of human rights attorneys representing the people of Philadelphia to present evidence that the U.S. government—including its Executive Branch and members of Congress—bears responsibility for enabling war crimes and genocide in Gaza. Expert witnesses in international and U.S. law, along with individuals with direct lived experience in Gaza, will provide testimony.
A jury composed of respected Philadelphia community leaders—including Dr. Tekelioglu—will listen to the testimony, deliberate, and issue a collective finding regarding the accountability of the United States and its agents.
