CAIR Says Biden Admin Has ‘Normalized Genocide’ After Another Gaza Baby Frozen to Death

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/5/25) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said President Biden has “’normalized’ the genocide of the Palestinian people” after the freezing death of yet another baby in Gaza – the eighth such death resulting from the Israeli genocide and the Biden administration’s support for that slaughter, forced starvation, mass destruction, and ethnic cleansing.

[MEDIA ADVISORY: On Monday, Jan. 6, healthcare workers across the U.S (NY, CA, MI, MN, OR, MA) will join Doctors Against Genocide in standing against the ongoing genocide and human rights violations in Gaza. On that day, they will collectively step away from work, taking a #SickFromGenocide mental health sick leave to confront the unbearable grief, moral injury, and trauma of witnessing the systematic destruction of lives, communities, and healthcare systems in Gaza. CAIR recently condemned the “international apathy in the face of genocide” that resulted in the freezing deaths of babies in Gaza. In October, CAIR said latest slaughter of babies and children in Gaza should “shock the conscience” of Biden administration officials supporting the genocide in Gaza.

Israel has slaughtered almost 46,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children. That death toll is equal to 2.2 percent of the Gaza population, which would be the equivalent of killing 7.6 million Americans. Israel has killed more than 200 Palestinians across Gaza in just the last three days.

Yesterday, CAIR called President Biden’s new $8 billion arms deal in support of Israel’s genocide in Gaza “racist” and “sociopathic.”

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“During his presidency, Biden oversaw and ‘normalized’ the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, despite mounting evidence detailed by international bodies and even Israeli organizations that Israel is violating international law.

“By continuing to support the far-right government of indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, President ‘Genocide Joe’ Biden and his administration’s officials are responsible for the daily slaughter, forced starvation, mass destruction, and ethnic cleansing witnessed – and largely ignored by those who are complicit with genocide. They could have acted long ago to end the suffering, but instead chose to use American taxpayer dollars to fund Israel’s genocide.

“President Biden clearly does not regard Palestinian Muslims and Christians as human beings worthy of life and dignity. He and his administration’s officials seem to view Muslims, Arabs and Palestinians as expendable objects that have no intrinsic value as humans.”

CAIR’s condemnation came as Israel is planning to step up its forced starvation of the civilian population in Gaza after President-elect Trump is inaugurated.

Multiple human rights organizations and international bodies have accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for committing war crimes.
