The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said President Trump must force Israel stop it genocide in Gaza after indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu blatantly ignored the President’s ceasefire demand by killing at least 61 people – including four aid seekers in attacks since dawn despite the president’s call for an end to the bombing.
Yesterday, CAIR welcomed President Trump’s call for Israel to stop bombing Gaza and urged negotiations leading to a just and lasting peace.
In a statement, Washington, D.C., based CAIR said:
“Less than 24 hours after President Trump’s call for an end to the genocidal bombing campaign in Gaza, the Israeli occupation has responded with more bloodshed, killing at least 61 more people, including those desperately seeking food for their starving families. This makes it clear that Netanyahu wants to prolong the genocide and thwart a permanent ceasefire agreement.
“President Trump must move beyond rhetoric and immediately use every diplomatic, political, and economic tool available — including conditioning U.S. military aid — to end this campaign of mass killing and finalize the permanent ceasefire deal on the table.
“Our government cannot continue to fund and defend a rogue regime engaged in what the world recognizes as a genocide. President Trump should hold Israel accountable now — before more innocent lives are needlessly taken.”
Also yesterday, CAIR called on President Trump to withdraw his support for the Israeli government’s ongoing efforts to annihilate Gaza City and everyone who is unable or unwilling to leave as another child starved to death and dozens, including children, were massacred in Israeli bombardments.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
