The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today strongly condemned a new military aid package including 2,000-pound bombs and aircraft to Israel.
According to the Washington Post, “The Biden administration in recent days quietly authorized the transfer of billions of dollars in bombs and fighter jets to Israel despite Washington’s concerns about an anticipated military offensive in southern Gaza that could threaten the lives of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians.
The new arms packages include more than 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs and 500 MK82 500-pound bombs. The 2,000-pound bombs have played a major role in Israel’s slaughter of more than 32,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

CAIR has repeatedly condemned the Biden administration’s bypassing of Congressional approval to send more weapons to Israel’s far-right government for its genocidal campaign of ethnic cleansing in Gaza.
In a statement, CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“We strongly condemn the Biden administration’s unbelievable and unconscionable decision to secretly send hundreds of new 2,000-pound bombs and other weapons to support Benjamin Netanyahu’s genocide. Arming a war criminal makes you a war criminal.”
Mitchell added that Biden himself called Israel’s bombing campaign “indiscriminate.”
He noted that earlier today, CAIR condemned restrictions placed by the Israeli government barring Palestinian Christians from entering Jerusalem on Easter.
