CAIR Welcomes Arrest Over Neo-Nazi Vandalism Targeting D.C.’s Union Station

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/30/22) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed an arrest for neo-Nazi vandalism targeting Union Station in Washington, D.C.

Police arrested the 34-year-old suspect for allegedly spray-painting Nazi swastikas on Union Station and three other buildings on Friday, a day after International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“We welcome this arrest and hope the swift police action sends the message that antisemitism and all other forms of bigotry will not be tolerated in our society,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.

He said the American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, white supremacy and all other forms of bigotry.
