CAIR Welcomes Hate Crime Charge After Alleged Racist Assault in Louisiana

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed the hate crime charge for a suspect who allegedly attacked a Black man after using racial slurs in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The man allegedly drove his vehicle next to a Black individual’s vehicle, exited his vehicle, and shouted “I hate n*****s.” The victim then exited his vehicle and reportedly stood in front of the perpetrator’s vehicle. The perpetrator then reportedly drove around the victim and ran over the victim’s foot. The alleged perpetrator was apprehended by police and booked for Hate Crimes, Aggravated Battery, and Resisting an Officer.
