The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed a statement from the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention condemning Israel, the U.S., Canada, and Europe for perpetrating genocide in Gaza, as United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today said that Gaza has become “a killing field.”
In a statement released on April 5, the institute declared that the governments of the United States, Canada and Europe have enabled and actively supported Israel’s brutal assault on Palestinians, despite clear evidence of mass atrocities.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Tuesday that Gaza had become “a killing field,” blaming Israel for blocking aid and failing in its “unequivocal obligations” to meet the needs of the Palestinian territory’s residents.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“All people of conscience can see that what the Israeli government has been doing in Gaza – with the support of the United States- is clearly genocide. Israeli atrocities are equaled only by the crimes against humanity we have witnessed in the previous century. The United States and the nations of the world can no longer remain silent as these crimes are carried out. Israel is a rogue state that must be stopped, and its genocidal leaders must be brought to justice.”
