(WASHINGTON D.C., 10/18/2021) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today supported a community-level effort to change the names of streets named after Confederate leaders to rename those streets after civil rights leader Elijah E. Cummings, and Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, who were killed in police shootings.

He said the American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
