Washington, D.C. based CAIR also welcomed the recognition earlier this month of Palestine by Slovenia.

In a statement, CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:

“The nations of the world are seeing the true face of Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza and are taking steps to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. We welcome these developments and encourage the Biden administration to follow suit.”

In May, CAIR welcomed the recognition of the state of Palestine by Norway, Ireland and Spain, and called on the Biden administration to stop blocking that nation’s full United Nations membership.

Yesterday, CAIR called on the Biden administration to condemn growing reports of the systematic torture of Palestinian detainees by Israeli forces.
