The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed a documentary produced by Zeteo on Israel’s killing of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and exposing the identity of her alleged killer.
CAIR also condemned the Biden administration’s foreign policy team for covering up Abu Akleh’s murder by Israeli forces.
The filmmakers of the new documentary on the killing of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh by Israeli forces say they have uncovered the identity of the Israeli soldier who pulled the trigger. The documentary also exposes attempts by the Biden administration to cover up the crime.

In a statement, CAIR national Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“We commend Zeteo and the dedicated investigative reporters who produced this documentary, which reportedly exposes both the Israeli sniper responsible for deliberately murdering American citizen Shireen Abu Akleh and the Biden administration’s criminal cover-up of this crime.
“We strongly condemn President Biden, Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Brett McGurk, Jacob Lew, and others involved in covering up the Israeli military’s murder of Shireen Abu Akleh. None of these people should ever work in government again and should face legal consequences for their actions and inaction during Israel’s genocide.
“By lying about Israel’s deliberate assassination of an American journalist, the Biden administration disregarded their duty to protect the American people and their oath to uphold the law.
“We call on the Trump administration to do what the Biden administration refused to do: put America first by holding the Israeli government accountable for this brazen crime against an American citizen.”
CAIR has previously called for justice for Shireen Abu Akleh.
