CAIR Webinar (7/16 @ 4 PM ET) – Understanding Disability: The Role of an Ally
(WASHINGTON D.C., 7/14/2021) – On Friday, July 16 at 4 PM (ET), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and CAIR-New Jersey will host a discussion about how the organization Muhsen works to serve all adults and children with disabilities and how to be an ally to disabled people.
The discussion will be hosted on Facebook Live and will stream on CAIR and CAIR-New Jersey’s Facebook pages. It will be hosted by CAIR-New Jersey Executive Director Selaedin Maksut and will feature Muhsen Project and Certification Coordinator and Muhsen-New Jersey Chapter Lead Areej Abdulla.
ABOUT MUHSEN:
Muhsen is a nonprofit umbrella organization serving children and adults with any intellectual, mental, or physical disability. Founded by Dr. Omar Suleiman and Joohi Tahir, Muhsen works to create an inclusive and accessible environment for people with disabilities and their families.
Muhsen assumes an active role in advocating, educating, conducting training, and implementing programs and services across North America to improve the experience within mosques, conventions, and related classes and events, as well as to create a positive and welcoming community for persons with disabilities.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
