As Muslim leaders and representatives who may have to interview with media or hold press conferences on a wide range of issues, it is important to understand the media landscape and know how to effectively communicate your message and advocate for your community
CAIR is holding a comprehensive media training for mosque leaders designed to provide you with tools and techniques to effectively engage with the media, respond to challenging questions, dismantle stereotypes, and present a balanced and positive image of Islam and Muslims to the public.
By participating in this training, mosque leaders will:
1. Learn how to effectively communicate your message in interviews and public appearances.
2. Gain insights into how the media operates and how to work with journalists.
3. Develop strategies for responding to challenging or biased questions.
4. Enhance your ability to represent the Muslim community in a positive and accurate light.
About the Presenter:
CAIR’s Research and Advocacy Director Corey Saylor is an expert on political communications, media relations and anti-Islam prejudice in the United States with over two decades of experience.
The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Washington Post have sought his opinions. He has appeared on outlets ranging from Fox News to CNN, the BBC, and Al Jazeera.
Saylor has run successful advocacy campaigns against corporate giants such as Burger King and Bell Helicopter-Boeing.
He has been active in combatting the Muslim Ban, anti-Islam legislation nationwide, and removing biased and inaccurate materials from law enforcement counterterrorism trainings. Saylor has authored a number of reports documenting anti-Islam sentiment and civil rights issues in the United States.
Saylor has conducted dozens of leadership, advocacy and media trainings across the United States and Europe, including speaking to audiences at NASA, Yale, Princeton, and the U.S. National War College.
