CAIR-Connecticut Condemns Alleged Racist Remarks at High School Sporting Event

(HARTFORD, CT, 2/8/2022) – The Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CT) today condemned alleged racist remarks made by spectators at a high school basketball game in Ledyard, Conn.

Bacon Academy and Ledyard High School are investigating racist remarks reportedly made during a girls’ basketball game between the two schools on Saturday. Spectators from Bacon Academy allegedly called Ledyard players the n-word. One spectator was escorted out of the game. Ledyard’s Superintendent said additional racist comments targeting their players were made by other Bacon supporters after the game.
