CAIR-MN Condemns Distribution of Racist Materials in Lino Lakes, Welcomes State Senator’s Statement Condemning Hate Incident

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 7/10/22) – The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Minnesota) today condemned the distribution of racist materials in Lino Lakes, Minn., and welcomed a statement by state Sen. Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) expressing “zero tolerance for this behavior.”

Chamberlain’s statement said that on Saturday morning, residents of Lino Lakes reported finding baggies containing white rice along with a racist message attached on their property.

“We condemn this latest racist incident targeting our communities and welcome Senator Chamberlain’s expression of ‘zero tolerance’ for hate,” said CAIR-MN Executive Director Jaylani Hussein. “We join in the call for law enforcement authorities to investigate all such hate incidents and to bring the perpetrators to justice.”

He noted that earlier this month, CAIR-MN condemned distribution of similar racist white supremacist materials to homes in the Cottage Grove, Minn., area.

He added that the American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, white supremacy and all other forms of bigotry.
