(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/4/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, and its New York chapter today condemned the distribution of neo-Nazi white supremacist flyers in Columbia and Ulster Counties, N.Y., and in Dearborn County, Ind.
On Sunday and Monday, at least a dozen residents in the Columbia County town of Chatham reported neo-Nazi flyers on their property, allegedly distributed by a white supremacist group calling itself “White Lives Matter New York.” Similar flyers were reported in Rosendale and New Paltz in Ulster County. The flyers promoted a neo-Nazi propaganda documentary and featured pictures of Hitler. Local residents with information have been asked to contact law enforcement authorities. Flyers promoting the same propaganda documentary were also distributed to homes in Dearborn County, Indiana.

“We condemn the distribution of this hateful, white supremacy propaganda and stand in solidarity with all those affected,” said CAIR-NY Executive Director Afaf Nasher. “Communities must come together to repudiate all forms of ethnic and religious hatred.”
“We must all stand against the increased promotion of racism, white supremacy, antisemitism, and other forms of bigotry we are witnessing nationwide,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.
He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
