The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today demanded that the Biden administration address reports that American doctors who volunteered in Gaza experienced treating “incinerated” and “shredded” children, including children deliberately shot in the chest and head by Israeli snipers.
In a report by CBS News Sunday Morning, Dr. Mark Perlmutter from North Carolina said, “I have children that were shot twice.” He was then asked, “Wait, you’re saying that children in Gaza are being shot by snipers?”

He responded: “Definitively. I have two children that I have photographs of that were shot so perfectly in the chest I couldn’t put my stethoscope over their heart more accurately and directly on the side of the head in the same child. No toddler gets shot twice by mistake by the world’s best sniper. And they’re dead center shots.”
“Reports of the intentional murder of children by Israeli forces must be addressed by the Biden administration and by all institutions upholding international law,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “These shocking reports of the intentional killing and maiming of Palestinian children should shame all those who are supporting and enabling the genocide in Gaza.”
Hooper added that earlier today, CAIR welcomed a demand by unions representing millions of workers for a ceasefire in Israel’s genocide in Gaza and an end to U.S. military aid to Israel.
Last month, CAIR called on the international community and the American people to address a new report by Save the Children that up to 21,000 children are missing in the chaos of the war in Gaza, “many trapped beneath rubble, detained, buried in unmarked graves, or lost from their families.” CAIR also called on the Biden administration to stop enabling and backing the starvation of children in Gaza by the far-right Israeli government.
He noted that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is expected to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant within weeks.
Tens of thousands are expected to gather on Capitol Hill Wednesday to protest Netanyahu’s address to Congress and the far-right Israeli government’s slaughter of almost 40,000 people – mostly women and children – in Gaza, and its destruction of much of the civilian infrastructure in a campaign of ethnic cleansing, forced starvation and genocide.

Last week, CAIR condemned a threat by House Speaker Mike Johnson to arrest lawmakers who protest far-right Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress next week.
CAIR issued and action alert for Americans to call on members of Congress to boycott or protest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to a joint session of Congress on July 24th due to his openly racist views, genocidal war crimes, disrespect for the United States, and opposition to a Palestinian state.
CAIR recently welcomed a ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), or World Court, that Israel’s settlement policies and exploitation of natural resources in the occupied Palestinian territories is unlawful and must end.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
