CAIR Condemns Israeli Occupation Forces for Firing on Syrians Peacefully Protesting Invasion

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, condemned Israeli occupation forces for opening fire on Syrian protesters peacefully rallying against Israel’s invasion of their nation.

Israeli troops fired at Syrians protesting in the southwest Daraa province after Israel’s seizure of two villages on Friday. Israeli forces also seized the villages of Jamlah and Maaraba, expanding its illegal occupation of Syrian territory.

Earlier this month, CAIR condemned Israel’s invasion and bombing of Syria as “new and escalating crimes.”

In a statement, Washington, D.C., based CAIR said:

“We strongly condemn Israeli occupation forces for opening fire on Syrian men, women and children who were peacefully protesting Israel’s illegal invasion of their cities, and we call on the Biden administration to demand that indicted war criminal Netanyahu immediately withdraw his fighters from Syrian territory. There is no basis in international law for the Israeli regime’s invasion of Syria, and its invasion must end now so that the Syrian people can rebuild their country, free from occupation and oppression.”

Also today, CAIR condemned the Pentagon’s lying about the number of U.S. troops in Syria and called on the incoming Trump administration to make a plan for a full withdrawal from that nation.

CAIR recently congratulated the Syrian-American community, the liberated people of Syria, the Muslim world, and everyone who supports justice for all on the fall of the brutal Assad dictatorship.
