The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said the revelation of Israeli government lies about its massacre of Palestinian medical personnel in Gaza “once again exposes the true nature of Israel’s genocide.”
Newly-discovered video refutes Israel’s lies about its massacre of 15 rescue and aid workers in Gaza last month. The Israeli military had falsely claimed it opened fire when “several vehicles were identified advancing suspiciously toward [Israeli] troops without headlights, or emergency signals.”
But the video found on a cellphone of one of the slaughtered medical personnel shows clearly-marked rescue vehicles with headlights on and red emergency lights flashing. The vehicles were shown driving on a clear road with no sign of military activity. In the video, and a man’s voice says in Arabic, “Mom, forgive me. This is the path I chose, to help people.”
In a statement, CAIR said:
“The revelation of the Israeli government’s egregious and obvious lies about its massacre of Palestinian medical personnel once again exposes the true nature of Israel’s genocide. Despite this ongoing genocide, our own government continues to support the mass slaughter of Palestinian children, the forced starvation of an entire civilian population and the stated plans to ethnically-cleanse all of Gaza. Our government’s complicity with genocide must end.”
Last week, CAIR called the State Department’s response to the Israeli killing of the Palestine Red Crescent (PRCS) medics and several civil defense workers “shameful.”
Yesterday, CAIR responded to the killing of at least 33 children by Israeli forces in Gaza in the last 24 hours and a revelation that Israel’s resumption of attacks has killed at least 322 children in Gaza since it began.
Last week, CAIR said the “unconscionable impunity” granted by the world community for the ongoing genocide by the far-right government of indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu must end.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
