Defending Free Speech on Palestine

Advocating for Palestinian Voices

2025 PRIORITIES

In 2025, Americans face unique threats to their exercise of right to free speech, especially when criticizing U.S. support for the Israeli government’s human rights abuses against Palestinians. Students, workers, organizations and others are facing harassment, intimidation, censorship discrimination and even violence for exercising their First Amendment rights.

CAIR stands as a committed defender of free speech, challenging efforts that seek to silence advocates for justice. Since last year, CAIR has filed and won victories in federal lawsuits against Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the University of Maryland for attempting to punish or silence students advocating for Palestinian human rights.

Through such strategic litigation, advocacy, and public education, CAIR works tirelessly to protect free speech, ensuring that people across America can engage in robust, open dialogue without fear of retaliation or marginalization.
